The story of Okka D.O. began with its founder, Omer Okkaoğlu, during his college years. Ömer’s journey in the digital and IT world commenced with New Burry Rugs in New Hampshire, USA, where he was initially employed as a website builder. His tenure at New Burry Rugs was marked by significant achievements, notably the development of an advanced website that was quite remarkable for its time. Omer’s innovative marketing strategies, particularly through America Online (AOL), played a pivotal role in the company’s growth. He adeptly utilized AOL Keyword Advertising, Email Marketing, Chat Rooms, and Forums to educate and engage customers about Oriental rugs. Omer’s content marketing strategies, including the creation of informative articles and guides about Oriental rugs, not only attracted an interested audience but also established him as an authority in the field. These efforts culminated in rapid growth for New Burry Rugs, leading to Omer’s swift promotion to Head of Marketing.

Collegiate Achievements and Passion for Marketing

By the time of his graduation, Omer had fostered strong relationships with three loyal customers, with these professional bonds blossoming into friendships that spanned over two decades. This period was crucial in igniting Omer’s passion for the power of the internet and marketing, a passion that would define his future endeavors.

Post-College Expansion and Diverse Experience

Post-graduation, Omer continued to refine his IT skills under the tutelage of Mr. Faruk Cubukcu, a distinguished author in IT and computing. This learning phase was marked by significant skill development in areas such as Visual Basic Coding, Database Management, ASP, HTML, and achieving a Windows System Administration Certificate.

Founding of First IT Company and Venture into International Marketing

Omer established his first IT company, focusing on server deployment and software development. This venture experienced considerable success and growth, eventually leading him to join Baster Scales, a company renowned for its high-quality weighing equipment and bread slicing machines, based in Izmir, Turkey. As the Head of International Marketing at Baster Scales, Omer implemented various digital marketing strategies including Online Marketplaces, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Email Marketing, Display Advertising, and Web Analytics, successfully building a diverse customer portfolio across multiple continents.

Ascension to Chief Marketing Officer

Omer’s marketing expertise and successful strategies at Baster Scales led to his promotion to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In this role, he managed both traditional and digital marketing strategies, significantly enhancing his experience in team management and expanding his marketing knowledge on a global scale.

Launch of OKKA Weighing & Software Company

In 2012, Omer founded OKKA Weighing & Software Company, focusing on the manufacturing of advanced sensor-based devices. He introduced cutting-edge products such as POS-TER, an all-in-one device for weighing, scanning, and labeling, and DEPKON, a smart inventory tracking device. The company developed over 1000 software solutions, catering to some of Turkey’s most prestigious brands. The success of OKKA Weighing & Software Company was underscored in 2016 when it was acquired by a leading industry conglomerate.

D-Vision Marketing Agency and Continued Growth

Following this venture, Omer updated and advanced his knowledge in digital marketing, mastering WordPress, WooCommerce, and various marketing tools. He founded D-Vision Marketing Agency, which was later rebranded as OKKA Digital Outreach. In 2017, he joined ICT Yachts as Head of Shipyard, where he applied his marketing expertise to the luxury yacht industry, combining his professional skills with his personal passion for the sea.

Realization of Digital Marketing Passion and Focus on D-Vision

Concurrently, D-Vision experienced significant growth through various projects, most notably the Health Gum Project, where Omer’s efforts led to rapid brand expansion and high conversion rates. This project was a turning point, solidifying his realization that digital marketing was not only his passion but also his area of expertise in brand development. Consequently, he decided to focus solely on D-Vision.

Present Day and Future Aspirations

Since early 2023, Omer has been applying his vast experience to various industries, focusing mainly on strategic development. Under his leadership, Okka D.O. continues to expand its influence, with a branch in London providing professional media creation services for the UK and EU markets. Omer’s commitment to continuous learning and growth remains a cornerstone of Okka D.O.’s philosophy, driving the company towards new horizons in the digital and marketing world.
